Exploring Winds Discovering Power.

Data Collection

Loggers continuously sample the wind every two seconds, average it every ten minutes, and date stamp all data giving a complete picture of the intensity and nature of the wind

Wind Resource Assessment

RKIW continually strives to advance wind resource assessment techniques to improve the understanding of wind flow characteristics, thereby reducing the uncertainties in predicting wind farm output. To achieve more accuracy the company offers a systems approach to the complex issue of wind resource assessment beginning with the land development and civil works to supply, installation and the commissioning of the RK WindMast.

RKIW is well-acquainted with all the facets of traditional meteorological measurements including monitoring system design, calibration, installation, maintenance, training, data collection and data analysis, even in complex terrain and remote areas.

Countrywide Expertise

RKIW has executed the largest order for 50 meters Wind Masts from a single prestigious customer - Centre for Wind Energy Technology - the country's only premier body for Wind Turbine certification as well as Wind resource assessment, its end users include state nodal agencies in almost all states where wind industry is present in good measure. The company has carried out civil works in apparently inaccessible sites and the technicians have worked under varied conditions including so called hostile environments. RKIW's pursuit to excellence is relentless.

Technology coupled with Systems

RKIW works along with the customers to help them understand precise capabilities of their proposed valued investments in specified wind sites. Its programmes are tailored to address wind conditions that impact both energy production as well as wind turbine reliability. It's techniques are centered on measure - correlate - predict philosophy.

Data Collection and Evaluation

RKIW's experienced field staff visits the installation sites at regular intervals to exchange the data chips containing stored data with fresh data chips. These visits are also to carry out a visual inspection of the site as well condition of batteries. Batteries are replaced as per predetermined intervals so that continuity of data storage is maintained uninterrupted. Minor adjustments are carried out if necessary. These data chips are then sent to the Head Office in Mumbai for analysis. The company's experts analyze and evaluate the data stored in the data chips using appropriate hardware and software for :

"Data plausibility and integrity.
"Evaluation of site data
"Correlation of site data with reference data.

The detailed report of the evaluated wind data is sent to the customers every month.
